Say Hello to my Little Friend

My much beloved mutt, Cooper is going to have a new little brother next week! His name is Freckles and he's a chihuahua/dachshund mix. That's his petfinder photo below. We're getting him from our local animal shelter, which is operated by some of the most loving people! They are really dedicated to the animals and try their best to find excellent homes for them. If you're looking for a pet, you could find a breeder and pay a lot of money for a purebred dog - or you could save a life!

Our current dog, Cooper, was a rescue dog as well. He's about 3 and a half years old and he's been the most lovable, smartest and most loyal dog. He is so well behaved and although he's probably around 75lbs (lab mix), he still believes he's a lap dog. If you're thinking about adopting a pet, please consider your local animal shelter. Ours has so many dogs right now, they've cut the adoption fee in half. It breaks my heart to see so many dogs and cats without homes.

Even if you can't adopt an animal, why not take a donation in to your local animal shelter? They can always use dog and cat food, towels, cleaning supplies, and money. Give them a ring and find out what they need!

  4. @ MICHELL - that is a really good idea! I think I'll start doing that! Freckles is ADORABLE! I got my pooch, Oz (chow and black lab mix) from a rescue shelter. My dog before that (a terrier mix that looked like Benji) was abandoned during the infamous blizzard in Syracuse. It's such a warm feeling to give an abandoned pet a home.
